A source close to the investigation told WDRB there was an instructor pilot and a student passenger on the plane when it experienced an engine issue while flying near the Lewis & Clark Bridge.
Three people were taken to local hospitals after a small plane crashed near Baptist East in St. Matthews around 6 p.m. near Breckenridge Lane and Kresge Way.
Jessica Deis and flight instructor Evan Peele were on the plane when it experienced engine trouble on a training flight and lost power Friday, leading to the crash.Â
