The legislation's passage was one of the key demands of protesters over the last two weeks aimed at justice for Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old Louisville woman who was shot eight times and killed by LMPD officers during a supposed drug raid.
In court records and a press release, the attorneys claim police and city officials have ignored subpoenas and “unlawfully denied” several open records request, continuing a pattern of “lack of transparency.”
The FBI in Louisville said it's conducting a judicially authorized investigation in to Taylor's death.
