CycLOUvia returns this weekend
CycLOUvia is back Sunday, July 13, transforming a stretch of Frankfort Avenue into a car-free zone for walking, biking, skating, and other outdoor activities.
The event runs from 2-6 p.m., closing the road to vehicle traffic between Stilz Avenue and Pope Street.
“This is a chance for people of all ages and abilities to come together, get active, and experience our city in a new, fun way,” Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said in a news release.
Inspired by the “Ciclovía” program in Bogotá, Colombia, CycLOUvia promotes safer, more pedestrian-friendly streets and encourages support for local businesses along the corridor.
Drivers should follow posted detours and plan for alternate routes during the temporary closure. More information is available by clicking here.
