LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 11,000 graves of veterans buried at Louisville's Zachary Taylor National Cemetery will be decorated with Christmas wreaths this year thanks to donations to Wreaths Across America.

Now, the organization is asking for volunteers to put the wreaths on each gravesite. Following a ceremony at noon Dec. 13, volunteers will begin placing the wreaths on the graves to honor the veterans and their sacrifices.

A last-minute push during the final week of November helped organizers collect more than 2,000 wreaths before the Dec. 1 deadline.

Wreaths Across America officials said this is only the second time every grave at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery will be decorated with a Christmas wreath. The first time was in 2024.
