LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With just a week left to donate, volunteers need more wreaths to honor veterans at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery this holiday season.

Each December, volunteers place wreaths on the graves of more than 11,000 service members buried at the Louisville cemetery.

So far, about 9,000 wreaths have been sponsored, leaving a significant gap.

Each wreath costs $17, and organizers said every donation ensures a veteran’s grave is remembered.

The final day to sponsor a wreath is next Monday so volunteers can place them before the annual ceremony.
