LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Local golfers will have a chance to play a round for a good cause next month.
The Cabbage Patch Golf Tournament starts Monday, June 9 at the Audubon Country Club.
It's the largest annual fundraiser for The Cabbage Patch Settlement House, which works to "empower children, youth and families to reach their full potential." It offers a variety of programs leaders said are designed to "help each student achieve academic success."
Proceeds go toward the nonprofit's Educational Opportunities Program and overall mission. That includes tutoring, homework help, leadership development programs, college preparation and more.Ā
The tournament also includes a raffle for two different prizes. The first is the Golfers Experience Package, which includes certificates for a round of golf at some of the best courses in the area. Those include: Audubon Country Club, Hunting Creek Country Club, Hurstbourne Country Club, University of Louisville Golf Club and Valhalla Golf Club. It also includes a $200 gift card for Golf Galaxy.
The second raffle prize is a 3-night, 4-day stay at a luxurious lake house in Estill Springs, Tennessee. Raffle tickets cost $100 each, and there are only 100 raffle tickets per prize.
A drawing for the prizes will be held the day of the golf tournament at 5:45 p.m. Organizers said the winner "need not be present to win."Ā
