LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A groundbreaking was held Thursday morning for Louisville's 4th St. Jude Dream Home.
The home is in Mt. Washington on Meadows Rose Lane. It'll be the second time a St. Jude dream home will be built in Mt. Washington.
The 2,400-square-foot home will have four bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a new floor plan by Fischer Homes. It will be open concept, with a private study, a two-story family room with a shiplap fireplace, a three-car garage, and a private primary suite with a large luxury shower. It's valued at around $480,000.
Fischer Homes and St. Jude have been partners for more than 20 years, completing more than 30 dream homes and raising more than $32 million for the kids at St. Jude.
The Dream Home campaign is one of St. Jude's biggest fundraisers.
"We could not build this home without our trade partners and vendors," Carrie Iddings, with Fischer Homes, said. "We have national sponsors, including Bosch Appliances, Breezo, Kitchen and Lighting, so everyone who donates to the home makes it possible. We get every dollar back for the kids at St. Jude."
The house will be completed in September. Tickets for the raffle will cost $100 each and go on sale in July.
WDRB is a proud partner and will give away the dream home live on WDRB in October.
