LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A first look at the Kentucky State Fair’s 2026 celebration is here — and it comes packed with familiar Kentucky traditions, patriotic pride and a tribute to one of the state’s signature horse events.

The Kentucky State Fair revealed its 2026 official poster Wednesday on Kentucky’s 234th birthday, offering a preview of themes that will shape this year’s fair and the nation’s 250th birthday celebration.

The artwork places an American Saddlebred and rider front and center, taking a celebratory lap near Louisville’s iconic Freedom Hall — a nod to the World’s Championship Horse Show, a longtime fair tradition that draws competitors from around the world.

The poster theme, "County Traditions, Country Celebration," ties into America250, the nationwide observance marking 250 years since the founding of the United States. Fair organizers say visitors can expect special exhibits, patriotic-themed contests, photo opportunities, live mural painting and other events tied to the milestone celebration.

The World’s Championship Horse Show, held alongside the fair, is scheduled for Aug. 22-29 and is expected to bring thousands of horses, riders and trainers to Louisville.

Kentucky State Fair officials say the 2026 poster will be available for purchase in the fair’s merchandise store during the Aug. 20-30 event.
