LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Several community organizations are getting a monetary boost thanks to the Kosair for Kids Advisory Council.
The council awarded $400,000 in grants to 10 organizations that focuses on mental health, education and fresh food access. Each of the organizations had information booths set up Wednesday to discuss and demonstrate how its mission positively impacts children in the community.
"The kids that we're helping today, there's some that do food services, there's several that are sensory rooms for our children so that they're comfortable in the setting that they play in or have to work in, (and) there's some mentoring opportunities that we're recognizing today as well," said Bob Bonsutto, chairman of Kosair for Kids Advisory Council.
