LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The scorching heat on Saturday didn't keep people away from enjoying a block party, all to celebrate growth in the area.
The 'Broadway All The Way' project kicked off their block party in the parking lot behind Locals Food Hub and Pizza Pub. The event was a chance to inform residents about the status of transportation projects that will help reimagine the Broadway corridor, which runs from Shawnee Park to Bashford Manor.
There were interactive stations that provided project info to adults and children, including where transit stops will be located in the future.
"The general public input is that they're really looking forward to seeing this come to life," 'Broadway All The Way' member Dave Stills said. "It's one of those projects that just puts you better on the map."
Pending final design and funding approvals, the project team expects construction to begin in 2028.
