LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The winter skiing season at Paoli Peaks starts this week.

On Monday, the southern Indiana resort in Paoli announced in a news release that it will open for the 2024-25 winter season at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21.

Several activities are planned for opening day, as well as free snacks and swag giveaways while supplies last, according to a news release and a post on its Facebook page.

On day one, there will be seven trails of freshly groomed terrain. Snowmaking will continue as conditions allow, with the goal of adding new trails to the mix headed into the winter season.

"We couldn't be more excited to welcome winter back to Paoli Peaks, especially with the earliest opening and some of the best weather conditions we’ve seen in years," Deb Farmer, General Manager at Paoli Peaks, said in the release. "Our team has been working tirelessly to prepare the slopes, and we can’t wait to see our guests enjoying the magic of winter with us this season."

Tubing will start Dec. 27 when the Arctic Blast Tubing Park opens with at least four lanes of tubing, with plans to open all 10 lanes soon. Each lane is 700 foot long.

On Sundays, s'mores are offered throughout the season. There will also be Dew After Dark, which features live music, giveaways and more.

People can also download My Epic app to use mobile passes this winter.
