Swim school for children opens new Louisville location in St. Matthews

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new swim school is now open in St. Matthews.

The Chamber of St. Matthews held a ribbon-cutting on Thursday for the brand new Goldish Swim School.

"There should be no barrier to access for swim lessons," Theresa Carnes, owner of the school, said. "Drownings are the No. 1 cause of death for kids ages 4 and younger. The American Association of Pediatrics recommends that your child can learn how to swim by the age of 1. If they can learn to walk and crawl, they can learn to swim."

The school is located on Westport Road and North Hubbards Lane, right next to Target. Goldfish offers swim classes and programs for children ages 4 months to 12 years old in its state-of-the-art swimming facilities.
