LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana sheriff's office had an unusual rescue. 

The Jennings County Sheriff's Office posted a picture of Deputy John Hartman with a beautiful owl.

Hartman was on patrol, when he spotted an injured owl sitting in the roadway. The deputy safely removed the bird from traffic and brought it back to the Sheriff’s Office.

The owl was later transported to a wildlife rescue center, where it’s now receiving care. The owl is expected to recover.
