On Saturday, Catherine McKinney was charged with murder, according to Shelby County Sheriff Mark Moore.
Dakota Hill, 28, is currently charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death 4-year-old Serenity McKinney.
Prosecutors are recommending a 50-year prison sentence.
