Gold Star Families were honored during a ceremony held on Sunday in Frankfort.
The lifelong advocate for veterans worked to establish Gold Star Family memorials across the country.
Williams died last week on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the age of 98 at the Veterans Affairs medical center bearing his name in Huntington, West Virginia.
