Jefferson County Public Schools reminded families Friday that the district will continue to serve free meals for students in November despite the continuing government shutdown.
The number of JCPS schools falling under the Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) classification has increased from 34 to 41 this year.
The cuts are part of $142 million in proposed cuts across the district to address what is projected to be a $188 million shortfall in the 2026-27 budget.
