MSD approved a $200,000 donation to the Louisville Water Foundation to help those in the community struggling to pay their water or sewer bill.
State and local officials held a news conference Thursday in Louisville calling for a comprehensive audit of the Metropolitan Sewer District, calling it a "debt-ridden runaway train."
The company said the increase would represent a $3.23 monthly increase to the average customer.
