LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — Two men accused of shooting and killing an 18-year-old in Louisville will plead guilty, but to charges less than murder.

According to court documents, Jayden Alexander and Larry Bush drove up to Jeremiah Hurt and shot him outside an apartment on Crums Lane, near Shively, on Sept. 27, 2023.

Alexander and Bush were originally accused of murder, but prosecutors said the charges were changed because they believe it was a drug deal gone wrong and that Hurt had a gun in his lap.

Alexander was 16 at the time. Both he and Bush still face 10 years in prison for first-degree manslaughter. They will be formally sentenced in October, more than three years after the fatal shooting.
