Coroner identifies teen shot and killed near Crums Lane in Shively

The coroner's office said Jeremiah Hurt was shot and died at the scene.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Coroner's office has identified an 18-year-old who was shot and killed near Crums Lane in Shively.

Police said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Valley View Drive, near Crums Lane and 7th Street Road off Dixie Highway.

The coroner's office said Jeremiah Hurt was shot and died at the scene.

Police don't believe the shooting was "a random act of violence." A homicide investigation is underway, but police have no suspects and have made no arrests.
