LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person died after a crash on Dixie Highway near Valley Station on Monday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD responded to a crash involving a passenger vehicle and semi tractor trailer in the 12300 block of Dixie Highway, near Orell Road, around 5 p.m. Police said the passenger vehicle that was traveling southbound crossed over for an unknown reason and hit the semi tractor trailer head-on.
The initial crash caused the passenger vehicle to hit another vehicle that was traveling southbound. The driver of the vehicle that hit the truck died at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation. According to LMPD, the area around the crash on Dixie Highway will be shut down for a period of time for reconstruction, and the wreckage to be cleared.
