Highlander Fire in Floyd County, Indiana generic fire truck - 7.10.24

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Indiana State Fire Marshal is investigating after a fatal fire in Georgetown, Ind., early Tuesday morning. 

According to a news release, crews from the Highlander Fire Protection District responded to a box alarm for a fire in the 200 block of Sheri Drive around 12:30 a.m. Highlander crews assisted Georgetown Township Fire with establishing a water supply and putting out the flames. 

According to the release, "there was a report of a death in the home and the Indiana State Fire Marshal was called to investigate."

The Georgetown Township Fire Protection District and the Indiana State Fire Marshal also continue to investigate.
