LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three juveniles in Elizabethtown have been arrested for making threats to a school in Ohio.
Elizabethtown police say the threats were made Tuesday towards the Ohio State School for the Blind. Ohio police traced the threats to a phone number in Elizabethtown, according to a news release from Chris Denham, the public affairs officer for the Elizabethtown Police Department.Â
Police worked with school resource officers to identify the juveniles, who were arrested Wednesday afternoon. They were taken to a juvenile detention center. All three are charged with terroristic threatening. Â
"Anyone, regardless of age, who makes a threat to harm others especially school children will immediately become the subject of a criminal investigation and once identified, will be arrested," Denham said in the release. "It is my hope that others will learn from this and refrain from making further threats. Let me be clear, if another threat is made, the consequences will be the same."
Anyone who becomes aware of a threat is urged to report it immediately to law enforcement. Information can also be shared anonymously to Hardin County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-597-8123 or visiting P3tips.com.
Tipsters who provide information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000, which can be collected while remaining anonymous, according to the release.Â
