LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Â Some of the best archers in the country have their sights set on Louisville for the 44th annual National Field Archery Association's Indoor National Championship.
The Kentucky International Convention Center downtown hosted the event Saturday, which is open to all members, there were no qualifications events to lead up to it.
Archers from across the U.S. -- from ages 12 to 80 are taking part -- several are world champions and Olympians.
"This is the indoor championship," Bruce Cull, executive director of the National Field Archery Association, said. "We've got 48 states and actually six foreign countries represented, 1,500 participants plus all the spectators, it's a pretty cool event."
All the archers were allowed to shoot 60 arrows a day over the two-day event to gain points.
The archery vendors will still be on hand Sunday.
