LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 51-year-old man died weeks after a crash on Interstate 65 in Louisville.

Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to a crash at the northbound lanes of I-65 at the 124 mile-marker on Sept. 19 around 6:15 p.m.

Police said a man drifted across multiple lanes of traffic and crashed into a work truck that had pulled over onto the right-hand shoulder after experiencing a tire blowout.

The driver had to be extricated by Okolona Fire. He was taken to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries where he died on Oct. 11. The victim was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as Daniel Ingram.

The driver of the work truck was standing in a grassy area at the time of the crash and wasn't injured, according to police.
