LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Friday night in downtown Louisville.
Louisville Metro Police officers were called to 7th and Broadway at 9:38 p.m. on a report that a pedestrian had been hit, according to department spokesperson John Bradley.
Once on scene, police found a man who had been hit on Broadway at 6th Street, Bradley said. That's not far from the Gene Snyder Federal Building.
The man was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he later died.
The victim was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 61-year-old Mark Arthur.
Bradley said the driver remained on scene.
Broadway between 6th and 7th was shut down for LMPD's Traffic Unit to investigate.
