LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 56-year-old man was shot and killed by Frankfort police on Saturday evening in Franklin County.

According to Kentucky State Police, the Frankfort Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired at a home on Ridgeview Drive.

Police said officers encountered Bryan Radford of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, when they arrived at the home. Radford then went inside and came out with a handgun.

According to police, officers shot Radford with their agency-issued weapons.

No officers were injured in the shooting.

It remains unclear whether Radford pointed a gun at officers or fired shots toward them.
