LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 14-year-old who died Wednesday after accidentally shooting himself inside a Louisville home has been identified.
Louisville Metro Police said officers were called around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 1800 block of Greenwood Avenue, just west of Dixie Highway.
The boy was suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. He was transported to UofL Hospital downtown, where he died.
Police determined at the scene the boy died from an "accidental self-inflicted shooting."
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim Saturday as Dalton Wells Jr.
The manner of death is still pending an investigation.
