LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thanks to a Kentucky Lottery scratch-off ticket, a Shelby County man is $1 million richer.
The man from Bagdad, Kentucky, who chose to remain anonymous, said the first $20 "Feelin' Like a Million Bucks" ticket wasn't a winner but he tried again the next day at the Convenient No. 40 in Shelbyville.
The second time, he scratched the ticket instead of just scanning the barcode and won $1 million.
"I don't usually play scratch-offs, but the name of game jumped out to me," he said.
He chose the lump sum option of $700,000 instead of $50,000 per year for 20 years. He took home nearly $500,000 after taxes.
The man also won $4,000 on Pick 3 with a $10 wager on numbers 7-0-5 the morning he claimed his prize.
"I needed this win," he said. "It's a blessing."
