LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville's Apple Store will get a $1 million remodel as plans move forward for upgrades at Oxmoor Center.

A permit filed with Louisville Metro Planning and Design shows plans for exterior and interior improvements at the store at 7900 Shelbyville Road, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

Plans call for replacing exterior cladding in the courtyard area and making additional updates inside the store.

The renovation will impact a portion of the store, though the full scope of changes remains unclear. Apple has not responded to requests for comment.

The upgrade comes more than five years after Apple expanded its Oxmoor Center store, a project that more than doubled its size to over 12,000 square feet and included plans for features like "The Forum," a space for community events and Today at Apple sessions.

Other changes are also in the works at the mall. LBF reports Shake Shack will open its first Louisville location inside Oxmoor Center, though a timeline hasn't been announced.

A construction timeline for the Apple renovation hasn't been released.
