LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Crews battled a large fire at a storage unit facility in southern Indiana Tuesday evening that destroyed multiple units.

The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. at National Storage on Charlestown Road at McDonald Lane in New Albany, according to Tim Kron, deputy chief of the New Albany Fire Department.

Kron said five engines and two ladder trucks responded, and got the fire under control within 30 minutes of arriving on scene.

Photos and video sent to WDRB from viewers at the scene show visible smoke and flames.

Kron said about two rows of buildings with units were on fire, and an estimated 20-30 units were considered total losses with other units damaged by smoke and water.

No injuries were reported. Kron said crews are still at the scene monitoring hot spots.

The state fire marshal is also at the scene and will investigate the cause of the blaze.

Highlander Fire Protection District and Clarksville Fire were called to help man New Albany stations while crews fought the fire.
