LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a crash on the Kennedy Bridge Monday evening.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, that man has been identified as 59-year-old Dennis Leonard of Franklin, Ind.

Leonard died in a crash involving a van and a semi-truck in the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 at 5:30 p.m., during afternoon rush hour. Police say the van rear-ended the semi truck.

Authorities identified his cause of death as multiple blunt force trauma and compressional asphyxia. Funeral arrangements are expected to take place at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Ind.

Traffic reopened in both directions more than three hours after the accident, officials said.
