LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A bicyclist was killed after being trapped under a vehicle in a crash Monday night in Louisville’s Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers with the Third Division were dispatched around 8:20 p.m. to the 4900 block of West Pages Lane on a report of a crash involving a bicyclist.
Police said their preliminary investigation revealed a man was riding his bike on West Pages Lane when he was hit by a vehicle driving in the same direction.
Once hit, the man lost control of his bike and became trapped under the vehicle, police said. The vehicle continued driving for "a distance" before the driver stopped and called for for help.
PRP EMS and fire crews responded to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating and will consult with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to determine whether any charges will be filed.
Police said road is still closed at this time while they investigate.
