BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Bardstown church was packed Monday night with family and friends of Tommy Ballard, marking two years since his sudden death.
More than 150 people gathered at St. Thomas Parish to remember Ballard, who was shot and killed on family property in November 2016 while hunting with his grandson.
“It’s a very, very sad day,” said Tommy Ballard’s wife, Sherry. “I feel like it has been forever since I've seen my husband, but it feels like just yesterday this happened to him, if that makes any sense at all.”
Tommy Ballard’s death has been classified as a death investigation, and there are no suspects.
Ballard’s daughter, Crystal Rogers, disappeared more than three years ago. That case is also unsolved.
Sherry Ballard said she is still relying on the public to share any tips they may have on these cases.
“Something little that you may have seen may seem small, but it could be huge to a detective,” she said.
Nelson County Police have named Rogers’ boyfriend at the time, Brooks Houck, a suspect in her disappearance.
Sherry Ballard said, as each day and year goes by, she feels she is one step closer to learning who killed her husband and what happened to her daughter.
“In my heart, I know who did both ... but it's the justice I have to get,” she said. “The comfort that people show me gets me up every day and gets me moving and gives me hope that I am going to get answers one day.”
Currently, there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to Tommy Ballard's killer. Sherry Ballard is planning at least two more searches for Rogers, with the help of a cadaver dog, by the end of the year.
