LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Bardstown, Kentucky mom is facing serious charges after police say her son does not, and has never had cancer.
Police say Nancye Beth Avis has been falsely claiming that her 12-year-old son has cancer in an effort to make money. Several fundraisers were held during the past two years to benefit the family.
Police have been working with Child Protective Services on the investigation, which is ongoing.
