LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead after being hit by multiple cars while riding his bike on the Outer Loop, Louisville Metro Police said. 

Police responded to the hit-and-run accident around 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 4300 block of Outer Loop, not far from Preston Highway. 

Witnesses told officers the bicyclist was traveling east on Outer Loop when a passenger vehicle hit him from behind. When the bicyclist was getting up, police reported a second car hit him. He died at the scene. 

The first vehicle fled the scene. The second vehicle stayed at the scene.
