LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A teacher accused of dragging a first grader down the hallway at a Bullitt County School was found not guilty of assault, according to an attorney for the district.Â
After video surfaced of Ashley Silas apparently dragging the child about 160 feet through the hallway at Brooks Elementary, Silas was fired and charged with a misdemeanor assault.Â
However, an attorney for Bullitt County Public Schools, Eric Farris, says she was found not guilty Wednesday.Â
There is a back story on Silas’ issues, but a special appeals tribunal reversed her termination after she was initially fired. After that she became a district-wide substitute teacher.
As far as her future employment, Farris says the Bullitt Co. Superintendent will now evaluate where Silas can best serve the district.
The child was not seriously hurt.Â
