LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The owners of a Louisville bakery said they outgrew their current Clifton location and will move to a larger space in the Highlands.
The fast-growing Bae's Bakery, owned by husband and wife Griffin and Abigail McGreevy, will move to 1021 Bardstown Road in mid-July, our partners at Louisville Business First reported this week.
The 3,200-square-foot space near Baxter Avenue, was formerly Oddbird Bakery and Café, a new concept from Quills Café that was only in business for three months. Before that, it was Steel City Pops.
"We just completely outgrew the Clifton space so quickly we weren't able to continue operations in the back," owner Abigail McGreevy told LBF.
As reported by LBF, Bae's Bakery will lease the Highlands location from Quills, who they also provide pastries for.
With the additional space, Bae's Bakery plans to expand their menu and production capacity, offering more coffee drinks and additional baked goods.
In addition, the bakery also plans a new concept, "Hearth," a nighttime cooking and baking space that will feature classes from culinary personalities.
"We're going to have other teachers and chefs from around the city coming in," Abigail McGreevy said. "Clients can learn and then enjoy the food here, too."
Bae's Bakery hours at the new Highlands store will be noon to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. The Hearth classes will be by appointment.
