LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A full-service emergency room and urgent care facility will be built in Sellersburg.

Ivy Tech Community College Sellersburg and Baptist Health and Intuitive Health announced the development of a new $40 million facility on the Ivy Tech campus. The facility will have a full-service emergency room and urgent care facility.

According to a news release, ground will be broken this spring and it is expected to be completed in 2026. The Sellersburg location will be Baptist Health's fourth in the area.

The facility will enhance access for southern Indiana, along with providing advanced education and training opportunities for Ivy Tech nursing and health sciences students.

"Our current facilities in Jeffersonville and in Louisville have proven the advantage to have a facility that provides excellent and efficient patient care at a lower cost that can eliminate the stress of having to choose between an emergency room and urgent care," Baptist Health Floyd President Mike Schroyer said in a news release. "We are also excited about our continued partnerships with Intuitive and Ivy Tech in placing this new facility in Sellersburg next to the Ivy Tech campus."

The Sellersburg facility will also have outpatient imaging capabilities, enabling patients to access computed tomography (CT) scans, ultrasounds and other imaging services that ultimately support better health outcomes.

"This new facility will include a second floor where Baptist Health Medical Group will house primary care physician clinics, and it will also have expanded imaging capability in a separate part of the building to provide outpatient imaging for patients," Schroyer said.
