LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is celebrating Black History Month this month with the return of an annual exhibit.
The airport brought back the "The Sky's the Limit: A Celebration of the History of Black Achievement in Aviation" exhibit for the second year. It's displayed in the rotunda at the entrance of concourses A and B.
According to a news release Monday, around 330,000 travelers will have the opportunity to visit the exhibit in February.Â
"This exhibit continues to provide our community and out of town visitors the chance to see and understand the importance of Black achievement in aviation while celebrating the lasting impacts of these individuals and groups," David Mann, executive director of Louisville Regional Airport Authority, said in a news release.Â
The exhibit shows how Black men and women got their start in aviation and the adversity they faced on their way to achievement. The exhibit features 14 people and organizations.
It will be displayed from Feb. 1-29.Â
The airport is also holding a student art contest for children between kindergarten to 12th grade. Students are encouraged to submit their artwork that shows what the exhibit means to them.Â
