LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Evidence revealed in the Crystal Rogers murder case could change state law.

A Bardstown lawmaker introduced House Bill 305, that would crack down on recording grand jury proceedings.

It comes after Brooks Houck's family members secretly recorded grand jury testimony in the case.

Recorders were found during an FBI search of Houck family property in a pair of pant pockets, and a bag full of bingo stamps.

Rep. Candy Massaroni said Sherry Ballard, Rogers' mother, reached out to her asking if anything could be done, so Massaroni drafted HB 305.

It's already illegal to record grand jury testimony, but the Houck family was not charged because of the statute of limitations. It's currently at one year, but Massaroni's bill would extend it to 10 years.
