LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new coin laundry officially opened Tuesday in Fern Creek on Bardstown Road in Louisville.

Lotus Coin Laundry is located at 5250 Bardstown Road. There are 28 washers and dryers with access. The laundromat offers free WiFi, vending machines and will soon have arcade machines.

Owners said it is the largest laundromat in Louisville.

"There is a need in the community with a lot of apartments here, and we saw there is not a laundromat here big enough where people can come get their washing and drying done in a limited time," said Bhavna Patel, owner of Lotus Coin Laundry.

The washers and dryers range from small, large to jumbo. A load of laundry will cost anywhere from $4 to $10 depending on size. Dryers start at $1 or $1.25.

Lotus also offers drop-off laundry service, which can be ready by the next day. People can pay with cash or through a laundry pay app.

The laundromat will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The business is owned by local residents.
