LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Construction is underway on a new $15 million apartment complex in Louisville’s Buechel neighborhood.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, the development is located on Bradford Drive off Bardstown Road and Six Mile Lane.

The project, known as Hikes Schoolhouse Apartments, will feature a six-building layout with 94 total units, including 22 one-bedroom apartments and 72 two-bedroom units. Homes will range from about 760 to 1,200 square feet.

Rental prices are expected to start around $1,100 for one-bedroom units and $1,450 for two-bedroom units, not including utilities.

The development will also include several community amenities such as walking paths, a splash pad, a dog park and outdoor grilling areas.

Construction began last week and is expected to take about 18 to 20 months to complete.

Developers said the project is designed to add "bread-and-butter" housing options to an area where demand continues to grow.
