LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A popular taco chain based in California plans to open its first location in Louisville.
Del Taco plans to open at 6402 Bardstown Road, just north of Beulah Church Road in Fern Creek, according to a filing with Louisville Metro Planning and Design.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, the location would be a little more than 2,000 square feet and feature a patio and drive-thru.
Last year, the company signed a five-store development deal with a franchisee to bring Del Taco to Kentucky. According to the agreement, the franchisee will be responsible for developing and operating all five Del Taco locations across Louisville.
Del Taco, acquired by Jack in the Box in 2022, was founded in 1964 and is the second-largest Mexican-American quick-service chain in the U.S. with about 600 locations in 17 states.
