LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hoping to grab some January clearance items or after Christmas sales? Beware that some of the websites you are seeing can be fake.
One girl was scrolling TikTok when she thought she had struck gold.
She's a big fan of HeyDude shoes and saw an ad that looked just like the official website.
The ad was offering 20 pairs of HeyDude shoes for $50, or 10 pairs for $35.
Without missing a beat, she placed her order right away and even got a shipping confirmation.
Weeks later, no shoes came and she realized she had been conned by a fake website.
Fake clearance sites are becoming a more common issue, according to the Better Business Bureau website.
So be suspicious while shopping around online, even if it uses a name or logo you recognize.
