LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's June, and that means the hot weather is coming and the AC is getting turned up!

Electric rates are heading up in many areas again this summer, making it more expensive than ever to run your air conditioning.

Luckily, there are some ways to cut those costs.

Make sure you're getting an annual AC tune-up, and check your filter every couple of months.

Swap out old lightbulbs for energy saving LED bulbs, close blinds when the sun is coming in, and don't run the oven on those hot days.

Most importantly - don't skip that annual tune-up or you could end up paying a lot more!

Rates are not going down, at least not during the summer, so cut those costs while you can.
