LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Have you bought any beer lately? You may have noticed that prices are up this year, as they are on so many things.
Small breweries across the country, like coffee shops, are struggling with rising prices of beer ingredients.
Electric, water rates, ingredients - they're all up sharply over the last 4 years.
A new report by Cheapism.com lists popular beers with the biggest price increase from 2015 to now.
Sam Adams Summer Ale is up 71% the past decade, from $13 to $23 for a 6-pack, and Dos Eqquis is up 58% from $11 to $18.
Even cheap beer like Miller High Life and PBR are up 44%.
If you're wanting to save money on your favorites, ales are cheaper than regular strength beers. Lagers cost more because they take longer to make, and IPA's are priciest because they require more hops.
Despite recent price hikes, beer is still very affordable if you limit your intake, that way you don't waste your money.
