LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana ice cream chain is making a return to Jeffersonville.

Chillers Microcreamery will move back into its former home on Allison Lane after purchasing the building and is expected to open in March of next year.

Chillers, which is an affiliate of Zesto Ice Cream and Chillburger, is a family-owned chain known for its chili dogs and hand-dipped ice cream.

The ice cream shop operated at the Allison Lane location from 2011 until its lease expired in 2023. The building was then occupied by Sundae Paradise and operated by a former manager of the Jeffersonville Chillers location, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

According to a case filed in Clark Superior Court, Chillers filed a cease and desist order against Sundae Paradise and the property owners, claiming the business sold the same products Chillers uses. LBF reported Chillers claimed Sundae Paradise ordered and used the same soft serve mixes, chili hot dog sauce and cheese sauce, citing the court filing.

The case was dismissed Nov. 13 after both parties reached a resolution, which has not been made public.

Trevor Young, president of Chillers Microcreamery LLC, told LBF the chain has plans to open an additional location in 2026, but did not specify where it would be.

The family-owned company has operated since the 1970s and began franchising in 2011.
