LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Kentucky-based sunglass company is expanding its retail footprint to Indiana.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, the Simpsonville-based Shady Rays will open a location in Noblesville, just north of Indianapolis, on July 26 in the Hamilton Town Center. This will be the company's first location in the Hoosier state.Â
The 750-square-foot store is expected to employ 12 people.Â
Shady Rays founder and CEO Chris Ratterman told Louisville Business First he wants to incorporate the racing culture of Indianapolis through Shady Ray's partnerships and eyewear.
"Indianapolis isn't just another market for us — it's the racing capital of America, and our customers here live and breathe motorsports," Ratterman said.
The July 26 grand opening will feature NASCAR drivers such as Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin with meet-and-greets and autographs as well as other racing-themed events.
The Indiana store is part of a nationwide retail expansion, which currently includes stores in Denver; Scottsdale, Arizona; Minneapolis; Lexington, Kentucky; Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Louisville in the Oxmoor Mall. Shady Rays is also opening a store in Franklin, Tennessee.Â
In February 2024, the company opened its new 75,000-square-foot headquarters across from the road from The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville.Â
