LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Kingdom will have a new $11 million family-friendly theme park experience this season.
The amusement park in Louisville will officially open Discovery Meadow to the public May 10. Construction crews are working on the renovations at the park.
According to a news release Tuesday, the new land features 6 acres with three new attractions. There are 24 new and re-themed experiences.
Kentucky Kingdom officials said they are excited to show off a new atmosphere that celebrates the spirit of Kentucky.
"This is an immersive experience when you set foot in here," said Daniel Dambros, director of safety and security at Kentucky Kingdom. "It's like you're transported to a whole new world that really celebrates the natural beauty of the state of Kentucky."
