LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Unemployment rates in Kentucky grew in 112 counties between February 2023 and this year, according to new data.
The Kentucky Center for Statistics said the top five counties with the highest unemployment rates are Magoffin, Breathitt, Martin, Elliott and Carter counties.
The five counties with the lowest jobless rates are Woodford, Washington, Marion, Fayette and Spencer counties. Oldham County came in right behind Fayette and Spencer counties.

Last month, the unemployment rate for the state was 5.1%, compared to the nation's 4.2% rate, according to the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet.
However, the U.S. Labor Department reported Thursday that the number of Americans signing up for unemployment benefits fell slightly last week, according to The Associated Press. The Labor Department said jobless claims dipped by 2,000 to 210,000.
